Don and Rosemary Gillett

History: Gillett's Jewellers was started in 1974 by Don Gillett our current owner jeweller. Our store was originally called Diamond Trends and was located at 138 Albert St. Brisbane, Australia. During our first 12 years (until 1985), Don was primarily a manufacturing jeweller for other retail jewellers. In 1985, Don opened a retail store at City Plaza called the Engagement Ring Centre, in Adelaide Street Brisbane, Australia. We remained in the City Plaza until 1991, when we moved to a store on the Ground Floor in the heart of Brisbane's shopping district, Broadway on the Mall, Queen Street Brisbane, Australia. In late 2006 we moved to our new superstore, located in the same shopping complex, Broadway on the Mall, though now on the First floor.

Don Gillett our owner jeweller started his jewelry apprenticeship in 1967, at the age of 15. He graduated in 1971 with a Certificate of Merit and at which time he was awarded Apprentice of the Year in our state, Queensland. He was also awarded the top apprentice for each year of his four year apprenticeship.

Don graduated with a Diploma in Gemology in November, 1979. He was Chairman and co-founder of the Queensland Valuation Council in 1986 and is a former Chairman of the Queensland Jewellers Manufacturers' Association. Don is also a member of the Jewellers Association of Australia.

Rosemary Gillett is our owner manager who is responsible for the Gillett's Jewellers award winning window and shop displays. Rosemary spends a great deal of time and energy in the design, creation and implementation of our beautiful window displays.

Karen and Tilly will be well known my many of you. Karen  and Tilly are our store customer service specialists. If you're looking for an engagement or wedding ring, they are the ladies that you want to talk to.

Helen is a first class jeweller with many years of jewellery manufacturing experience. Helen is especially gifted at paying attention to detail when making jewelry.

Sharon Wild

Sharon Wild is the daughter of Don and Rosemary Gillett and spearheads the Gillett's Jewellers website. Sharon has been responsible for the marketing and strategy of Gillett's Jewellers online since 2000 and continues to drive its success.

Sharon also ensures the Gillett's Jewellers customer service team provide you with the best possible customer service - by email, phone or live chat.

Andrew Wild is the information technology specialist who first developed the award winning Gillett's Jewellers website in 1998. Since then, Andrew has driven the technical development team to create the leading jewelry site.
